He further briefly read out the previous AIKWSCC meeting which was held in Kolkata (Minute of Kolkata meeting attached in separate file). Before going ahead with the previous minutes the members participated in an exercise called “Apple Farm” led by Rev. Dino.
Following are some of the discussions as follow up of the previous AIKWSCC meeting held in Kolkata:
- Registration of KWS: Rather than having one centralized registration for all units of KWS, it was suggested that each unit of KWS register themselves in their respective state. As on date the following units of KWS has been registered:
- KWS-Delhi
- KWS-Hyderabad
- KWS- Shillong and
- KWS - Happy Valley
- Website for KWS: During the meeting it was suggested that all units of KWS have their respective website and these websites will be linked to one another. Following are the KWS who launched their website:
- KWS- Delhi
- KWS- Bangalore
- KWS-Shillong
- Motto and Logo: During the discussion the members agreed to have a common motto & LOGO for all KWS units. It was also further agreed to adopt KWS-Shillong motto “Shine for Christ” and also their LOGO. The members felt that the LOGO need to be modified e.g. color, etc which will be followed up by the KWS-Shillong team as they already have the details and get back to AIKWSCC. There was also discussion about some KWS already having their respective LOGO but all members agreed to have the same motto and LOGO.
- AIKWSCC’s role: During the meeting Rev. Dino clarified to the members that AIKWSCC’s role is limited to coordinate Khanglai and not to administer KWSs
- Guidelines of AIKWSCC : Rev. Paothang informed the members that the guidelines for AIKWSCC has been drafted and is yet to be finalized (attached draft guidelines)
- Beginning of KWS: There was some discussion about the beginning of KWS. Some of the participants felt that it was almost 50years since it began whereas some felt it started from 1980 in Shillong. The Chairman clarified that it will be better to consider the time when the fellowship was regularly conducted and this was from the 19th September 1980 in Shillong. Prior to this there were worship service fellowships but these were not regularly conducted.
- KWS – Bangalore informed that they will be celebrating their Decade next year November 2009
- KWS-Shillong will celebrate its 30th years in 2010
- Future Celebrations:
Seilouva khoh aumleh (AOB)
Following are some of the topics for discussion from the members:
Q: IS KWS a Church? Certificates issued (marriage/christening/baptism) from KWS will it be accepted in the mother church? Can KWS have a certificate which will be accepted by all churches? Can the KWS Chairman /Vice Chairman conduct some of the rituals such as “nau puina”/ christening, baptism, weddings in their respective fellowship?
Response:
The Chairman clarified that KWS is only a fellowship and not a church. Apart from marriage other certificates given by KWS which was conducted by an ordained Pastor will be accepted by mother church or churches.
Further Rev. M. Haokhothong informed the group that in KWS-G if a couple would like to get married in Guwahati the bride and the bridegroom decides whether they would like to bring a pastor of their choice to Guwahati to conduct the ceremony or if they prefer a licensed pastor from Guwahati and they are assisted in every way possible. For petty matters it is best to let the Committee decide at the best solutions and options. An ordained Pastor can conduct baptism and is accepted by all churches. Agenda from the floor:
Q: The KCLF representative informed regarding tithing that if possible the members of KWS to give 50% of their tithe to the mother church. Apart from other reasons this will also strengthen the relationship of the individual and his/her mother church.
Response:
Many of the members felt it better not have to have a strict guideline for tithing and leave it to the individual to decide. Some felt it best to leave it to the mother church to inform their members of their need or rather make an appeal to their members.
Q: Can the AIKWSCC have a regular meeting (yearly)?
Response:
The Chairman explained it will be good to have a regular AIKWSCC meeting but due to inconveniences it is usually coupled with celebrations of the KWS. Probably the next AIKWSCC meeting will be conducted in Shillong in 2010 when they celebrate their 30th years.

Majority of the members present gave their consent to this suggestion and it was agreed and concluded that the present executive members continue their post for another term.
